But Patty it's not set back off the street! It looks like it's right in the street. There even looks to be painted road lines there. There are also thick trees behind the house, and nothing to say that the entire area isn't wooded. However, regardless of the trees, any number of things could be reflecting in the window. It is a very bright sunny day ... perfect conditions for reflections.

Yes, it isn't set back off the street, cause it is in the process of being moved...I dunno if it is a reflection, it looks pretty solid to me to be one, but you could be right.

Funny thing is. The second of the two links that Patty posted has a picture of the house in its original setting. And there looks to be a very similar image in the window! Either it's a ghost who appears on a regular basis, or else there is a very natural reason why that image is showing up. I wonder if there is windowlene or something similar smeared over that window?

Its also possible that the window is "pitted" due to time.... my old windows were and i bet i could have gotten some cool illusions now that i think about it...

i think that this one is genuine but then again, it does look too good to be true almost! Maybe because they were disturbing the foundations of the house, she has appeared!

I wonder if there is any activity now that the house has been moved somewhere else, or if there is any activity where it once stood?

Michaela, what they said was that the house is haunted but that the place where it once stood was very close to a local cemetery, so it was a lot more haunted then! They offer ghost tours in the house I think! If you click on the links, I think the info is there... It is also known as the Hannah house (sp)

I know this is a good 2 years too late but I need to post a reply to this because it erks me. I live 20 minutes away from this house and I know people thats been to it and everything. That picture is not an illusion. The street is in the front of the house the picture was taken from the back. The window is just as normal and clear as any other. After this picture was taken they let a few Ghost researchers go in an do an investigation in which they recorded evps and other things. Those things were pulled and kept private because of the history of the house- stupid I know. I honestly think its dumb that they moved it to preserve it for the development because when you drive by where it used to sit the old foundation is still there like it was before there are just trees and weeds around it. They moved it about 10 minutes away on Southport and Mann and its now a deep yellow with dark purple shutters- I drive by it all the time. The family that owns it now doesnt beleive in the paranormal but I have talked to several people that stayed the night there and had plenty of things happen to them. So there is still activity in the house and from experiences and stories being told on the old foundation as well. I just needed to clear this up. The picture is real. That girl is realy there in the window. The only people there that day were the photgrapher and the movers- no lil girls there and no women with blonde hair.

Hi mommylee, welcome to ghostsamongus. It's really interesting to hear from someone who knows the house and the history so well.

While it's great to get back up that the photo is genuine and to hear about others experiences, I still have issues with accepting that the image is a ghost, largely because of the fact that I mentioned previously. The photo below which is a different photo, shows a similar white image in the same window, which leads me to the point that it is extremely likely to have a natural explanation.



I'm not saying that I don't believe the house is haunted. Simply that I don't believe this photo proves it.

The original photo from the newspaper was much larger and clearer so you can clearly see the little girl and the sad look on her face. Of course that was taken years ago. There are more pictures of the house though. I have to look up the websites that a few of my friends put together but there was one in particular that they took a picture and the house was clear, went in an did an investigation, took another picture and then left. The second picture they took you can see the shadows and a bunch of white haze in front of the house and in the window the same girl. He told me the lights moved in circles alot- while it was still on the trailor and cut off from power. Ive seen pictures up close of many investigations but only 2 of them same girl in them. The house is owned by a skeptical family, people drive by it all the time and take pictures though. If you typed in Nicholson Mansion in Indianapolis Indiana youll find a bunch of stories and other pictures. The next time I drive by it Ill take pictures though. It doesnt look much like it did before. The story behind the little girl- said to have died in the house is false. There are no records and the house was built back in the 1800s. There is a little graveyard behind the original location though so that could be where she came from. Shes not the only spirit in the house though. If you look up anything about haunting in Indiana and come accross a story about Gravity Hill which is a part of Keller Hill Road here in Mooresville dont beleive it. Those stories irritate me. There is a point on the road that if you put your car in neutral it appears that you are rolling uphill but its an optical illusion because realy your rolling backwards. Put the ghost stories are false. There was a group of teenagers that tried it and while they were rolling "uphill" a truck that was speeding on the road came up and threw them in a tree and killed them- after that they took the signs for Gravity Hill down so you have to realy know where its at to work and there are no train tracks on the road.

and the picture your talking about was taken just after they moved it. The one that you see from the paper- also on the 1st page of this forum was taken as they were loading up to move it. You can also find some news clips and investigations by looking up. Haunted house on Mills and Mann rd in Indianapolis Indiana. The picture from the paper though shows a real person in the window and your right the original picture shows a stub in the window as well but its a stub that could be the top of a head or a torso but not both like the picture from the paper. The photographer swore he sawl a lil girl in the window but wrote it off as impossible until it appeared in the picture and in the papers.
