Genuine or not? Book researchers are saying this ghost photo is the real deal. What do you think? Confused

I'd like to believe it is genuine, but I don't think it is. It's a good image, but certain things about it don't seem quite right. smiley5

I've heard that it's a fake. I'll try to find the article.

Seeing how they are promoting a book, I'm afraid it is probably manipulated

My thoughts exactly. Seems like a load of rubbish to me.

I get so annoyed to read 'Experts have proved the photo has not been manipulated'. With todays technology it's often impossible to tell if a photo has been edited!

When I first looked at the pic I thought it was a light illusion, but after seeing a close up it does look like it is probably a figure. Strange pose though! I suspect it's a publicity stunt.

I totally agree, Ruby. I searched for articles on this photo and can't find the one where it was debunked (and there were lots promising it was real!) Here is what I did learn:

The original was supposedly taken in 1997.
In 2002 the owner "reviewed" it and saw the image in the doorway.
2003 is the earliest I found articles claiming it to be Jimbo himself.
The stance of the photo is oddly similar to the album cover for Best of the Doors. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...5_album%29

It seems plausible to me that the hoopla is being revived with the book release.

I agree with others, seems to be too good to be true and it proably isn't! I also get fed up with 'researchers have proof that so and so is real'...when in fact, all they are saying is that it's either a publicity stunt to promote something or they get a nice fat back hander. I know, say it, I am a cynical cold hearted woman!!

At first I couldn't see it, but now I can make out the shape resembling him standing in a crucifix pose. It is however clearly just a trick of the light, the fact that they are using it to promote a book strengthens my belief that this certainly isn't a ghost.

I am not sure, but I am willing to bet that someone is trying hard to make money here.
