This story is about a friend of mine who lives in a Victorian terraced house, and who I think is psychic. She says that she often sees brightly coloured lights floating around certain parts of the house, and weird things happen all the time, mainly to her and her younger son. Her husband is a real sceptic, though.
One evening, she was sitting in her living room, watching TV, when she had a feeling she wasn't alone. She looked up and saw a Victorian couple standing at the far end of the room, just staring at her. As she looked at them, they faded away. She told her husband, but of course he had nothing much to say about it. A few days later, she and her husband were both watching TV when the same thing happened, and her husband saw the couple, too! Her husband was amazed, but still thought there must be a logical explanation!
They did a bit of research on the house and discovered that it had originally been the Headmaster's house, and someone found her the census information, so she could actually put names to them. It seemed that the couple were the Headmaster and his wife, and she commented that he did have a bit of a stern look on his face!
Her son had several encounters with a boy who my friend thought might have been the Headmaster's son, but I'll tell about that another time, as I must go now.

| What a sweet story and how wonderful that this couple are still together after death! Like Patty, looking forward to the story about the little boy. Thanks for sharing, Gwinni. |
LMAO GERRY! That is NOT a sweet story! I would have crapped myself!
Have you noticed how the Victorians seem very adept at coming back in this way? There are a few accounts in here about Victorian sightings! I don't know why but I find the thought of the Victorian era particularly eerie ... something about the way they looked I think. They just seem so alien somehow, and always seem to have a kind of stern appearance. But maybe that's just me?
Gwinni, perhaps you should suggest to your friend that she gets a cam?

My friend's not very technical, but I might suggest she takes a few pics with a digital camera (I think they might have one) or with mine. Well, the story of the son, is that my friend's son told her that he had a little friend, who played wth him sometimes. He described the little boy in such a way that my friend was convinced that he was one of the Headmaster's children. My friend had forgotten all about this, when one day, as she was walking downstairs, she heard the sound of snooker balls clicking. (They had a small snooker table in the spare room, then.) Earlier that day she had been tidying up and had put the balls into the triangular frame thing (sorry, don't know what it's called). She went back upstairs, and in the spare room, the snooker balls were scattered all over the table, not in any particular arrangement. She told her son about this when he arrived home from school, and he said it was probably his little friend, as the strange little boy liked playing with him at snooker! She would also find her son's bed rumpled, as if someone had been sitting on it, after she had made all the beds, and nobody else was in the house. This did unsettle her a bit, but she said, having thought about it, the family were in that house before her, and obviously they still needed to visit their home sometimes, so she didn't mind sharing. I think that's a nice way to think of it.

Ruby, her son is now 12, but this all happened when he was about 6 or 7 years old. He described the ghost boy's clothes to his mum and she worked out from the description that he sounded Victorian. It's a long time ago, so I can't remember all the details, and we haven't talked about it for ages, but what I remember most vividly was that the ghost boy had quite long curly blonde hair, and a frilly or lacy shirt on. I think also, my friend looked at the census information and possibly her son gave her a name that matched one of the Headmaster's children's names. Her son hasn't mentioned the other boy for years, now, so I guess that it was just for a year or so that this went on.
My friend still has experiences at times that she can't explain, though, for instance the time she bought some tulips that had short stems, and the next day when she looked at them, they'd grown gigantically tall! I've been to visit lots of times, but never noticed anything strange, so perhaps it's one family relating to another!
