Hard to say what it might be. You can't really see it in the photos or video. I do think people were very mean in their resplies to the article.... but aren't they always.

Yes, it's a strange one! Looks like it might be a large manatee after all, but this guy insists he has swum with manatees and it isn't one.
I'm trying to look for updates to this one and keep on getting the same thing, so there must be nothing new.

I was all set to put it down to a large water snake, until I read about the fin. Now I'm a bit puzzled. I think closer and more detailed photos are needed, on this.
