There have been lots of stories of 'Champ' over the years and photos, but this video obtained by ABC News has resurfaced and has people asking themselves: "What is in the water?"

Click on the link and scroll down to watch the video!

Great video Patty! I love that they had the two FBI analysts conclude that the video was not fabricated in any way. That adds a lot of credibility to what these "not crazy" fishermen say they saw but didn't capture on video. There's definitely something out there, but what it is is anyone's guess.

I agree with you on that, Kelli. Extremely interesting and bizarre, isn't it? Wink Very Happy

This is an area that I always find fascinating. It is good that FBI specialists said it was real. It cold be a prehistoric creature or possibly a very large snake? I have always fancied seeing one for myself, but haven't got to Loch Ness yet! There is also supposed to be a sea creature at Falmouth, in Cornwall-I wonder if Ruby has seen it, or heard stories? I've never spotted it when I've been there, sadly. Interesting. I have an old but brilliant book called Sea Serpents, Sailors & Sceptics by Graham J. McEwan. I bought it in a library sale a long time ago. It's full of accounts of various sea "monsters". It may still be available somewhere? Confused Shocked Good thread!

I remember when giant squid were as mythical as Nessie and Champ!

That's true, Heike. I wonder what else will become accepted as real? Very Happy

I, for one, am an avid 'Nessie' and all her cousins, fan! Laughing The thing here is that there is really no tangible evidence (carcass washed ashore, and so on) and scientists on a general rule scoff at the ideas of lake monsters. I don't really think that these could be pleisosaurs as suggested in this article, but have my own theory, which just makes sense to me. What if there is some kind of species in the water (we must think about this and ponder, because the water, after all is not our normal habitat, and some places are so VERY deep) that is some kind of long-necked seal or otter? Ok, I'm a romantic, or very stupid, but it could be a possibility! Laughing There is so little that has actually been studied in oceans or large (huge) lakes, that I can see where there may be a species yet unknown to man, couldn't there?
