I was very young, 5 years or maybey 4. In the dream, I'd start to float,
up. Then , as I drifted up, more things could be seen. The roofs of houses,
streets, ect. soon it looked like a map. Every thing got smaller, and smaller. Soon, I could see the earth. The curve, of the planet, the oceans,
it all came in to view. Then I was going past the moon. At this point, I got so scared, I woke up. I don't remember how many times, I had it.
It was at least 3.

It was so real.

Not sure... but Could it be you have a desire to be free, escape? Have a few worries right now?

The map also I would of thought signifies you are looking for either guidance or direction due to the problems mentioned above?

Also the age thing I think is important, a desire to have less responsibility, but ultimately the desire to be protected as when you were small by your mum and dad. As we grow older, we have so many things to worry about that were just not relevant as children. I think all in all every part of that dream seems linked to each other part of it.

Great dream as well!

Sean, you took the words right out of my mouth! A desire for freedom does seem to be the theme, doesn't it?
I think he's nailed it, Squeaky! Smile

I love flying dreams and think it's wonderful that you had one so young and remember it! The desire to fly is one shared by everyone, I think, but it may also be that our spirits are free to fly . . . not limited by the earthbound body . . . and some part of us knows that and allows us to shake off those shackles for just a bit in our dreams.

I also heard that OBE's (out of body experiences) can have these scenarios. I love the flying dreams, I have had them but they were not nice in the end. LOL here I go again, I was being chased by a vampire, no honestly, a vampire. He climbed on a roof and I flew to another roof, he flew after me. Woke up in a real sweat.

ALL of my nightmares are about VAMPIRES - WHY? The worst dream was being trapped in a glass coffin and knowing that I could see out but hopefully they could not see in. I remember even holding my breath in my dream as they (vampires) peered in the coffin. Ooooh I get the eebie-jeebies just thinking about that dream. I always wake up in the middle when they are trying to get the lid off, eeek!

I really enjoy my flying dreams, and Gerry I do believe in OBE's. I've seen some shows on TV about the subject. Yes, because it was TV, it could have been staged. Also, RV, Remote Viewing, but thats a different topic. In this show, (supposedly), different people were sent to undisclosed locations and had to do something that the person doing the OBE didn't have a clue about. In particular, this one girl went to an apartment and started reading a book. The peron having the OBE actually discribed the room, what she was sitting in, chair, sofa etc, what book she was reading and who it was written by. I thought that was interesting but like I said,,TV,, it could have been staged.

In my flying dreams, which I love, there are 2 different scenario's. One would reoccur when I was a child. I was in our front yard and was able to "jump", I say jump for a better word but was more like uncontrolled flying. I couldn't control where I was going to land but I would always land in our front yard. Like, pick a location and see how close I could land to it.

When I got older, my dreams changed from uncontrolled to controlled. In these dreams, I am human, not a bird or mechanism like a transformer or any of that type thing. I can actually go aloft or air-born and soar for long distances and different heights. Do aerobatics, if you will. Look at where I want to go and go here, think of what I want to do, and do it, stop in mid-air, get my bearings and continue. Really strange because in these dreams I feel that I have control of whats happening, that I am using a cognitive thought process. Everything is so vivid, from passing things as I gain altitude to the dimensions of items changing because of the distance or height to or from them. However, in both of these dream scenario's, the one area that stays with me is the feeling of flying. I can feel the wind rushing over my face, I can feel the adrinalin from looking down at great heigths, I can feel the weightlessness when I come to a stop from ascending, I can feel the pressure on my body when I descend and slow down before touching the ground. I have never awakened because of these dreams, like a person would if they were falling in their dreams. I vividly remember these dreams and the feelings I experienced for weeks. I guess if I could I would stay in these dreams for days,,,lol, I love them. I have always had the desire to get my pilots license because I love to fly. When I was a child, the planes of that era had these loud engines because they only used prop engines, you could hear them from a long distance. Everytime I would hear one then, as it is now, no matter how many people were around me, I felt totaly alone and,,, I don't know to say lonesome or lost. I can be holding my wifes' hand and if one of these old loud relics flies over, I feel like I am totally alone. It's a weird feeling. This makes me ponder to think if I was ever a pilot in my past life. Yes, I do believe I have been here before. A different subject and one I may delve into later.

Shocked Guess I shouldn't have called it a flying dream. A flotting dream would have been better. Went straight up. Just floated away.

Think I would have died, if I didn't get so scrared. It was so real, and when I awoke, sweet was every where. The earth was so big, and I don't rember seeing a globe or learning about that.

Oh well, guess, there's no way to know for sure, what it was.

Squeaky, can I just verify something with you? Do you mean that you had these dreams when you were 4 or 5 years old, or that you have those dreams now and in them you are 4 or 5 years old?

That's a really odd dream to have at that age. I wouldn't have thought a 4 or 5 year old would have the knowledge to be able to visualise half of those things, or understand the concept of things like distance and objects on earth getting smaller. It does sound to me like your spirit left your body. Maybe not as in death as such, but perhaps you were astral travelling? That's so interesting!

Well I don't know too much about astral travelling, but I've read that if you get scared or if your physical body is in any danger, then you immediately re-enter your body. Sometimes with such force that it can leave you bruised! I certainly think it sounds like a possibility that, that's what you experienced!
